The scientific meeting regarding the Iranian Supreme Leader's letter to American students was held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran at Carita Politics Institute in the Vatican.

Hawzah News Agency- an academic meeting regarding the Iranian Supreme Leader's letter to American students was held on Friday, June 21 by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Carita Politics Institute (the political and executive arm of the Holy See) attended by the officials and students.

At this conference, Prof. Luchani, the head of the Carita Political Institute, spoke in defense of the oppressed and the fight against oppression and tyranny, adding, “Political kindness has a universal aspect; Church and politics should be together.”

He added,” The main way to reach the goal is the closeness of Christianity and Islam because these two great religions can offer common values. The basic problem today is the lack of global ethics. According to Christianity and Islam, religion is not separate from politics, rather they are connected. Religion and diplomacy, with the help of ethics, seek to ensure peace and justice in human societies and are against oppression and the spread of violence in the world. Rape and killing by any government and follower of any religion is condemned and rejected.”

In another part of this meeting, Iran’s ambassador to the Vatican Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari elaborated on the Supreme Leader's letter to the American students; he mentioned his message as a message of empathy and solidarity in defense of the oppressed, saying,” the uprising of the students, demonstrated their protest and deep criticism of the genocide of the Zionist apartheid regime and the defense of helpless people of Palestine.”

He went on to say that they denounced the American ruling body for supporting the Zionist terrorist network and challenged them. In reality, the essence of the pro-Palestine protests of university students in The US is to criticize the slogans of the arrogant rulers in support of human rights and democracy. In his recent letter, the Supreme Leader stated that the protesting student population in The US formed part of the resistance front. All people should stand on the path of truth and oppose anti-tyranny, which is the pinnacle of religious and Quranic teachings, at the top of their actions and reactions.

The Iranian diplomat also stated that denying oppression in the international arena means denying injustice, and discrimination, imposing illegitimate will on others, seeking domination, and trampling on the rights of others. At the level of world opinion, concepts such as arrogance, colonialism, exploitation, imperialism, and domination are rejected because they are examples of oppression and ignoring the rights of others and must be fought against.
